When it comes to selecting a carpet cleaning company, it seems as though there are are as many techniques or systems as there are companies to choose from. Being in the business for over 40 years has given us ample oportunities to investigate the various carpet cleaning systems on the market. As a result, we only use the best methods and technologies for cleaning and protecting the seemingly endless variety of carpeting used today.

Pre Inspection
Walk through with client to identify areas of concern. Determine what caused the problem to know what special process to use for best results.
Thoroughly vacuumed with commercial pile lifter
A pile lifter is more than just a commercial vacuum cleaner. It has two motors, one to drive the lifter brush and one for the vacuum. It is weighted to cause the greatest vibration, suspending the loose soils to be recovered by the vacuum. It is capable of recovering the majority of loose soils prior to actual cleaning. If not done, conventional steam cleaning will drive loose soils to the back of the carpet causing premature re-soiling.
Apply pre-conditioning lubricants to areas being cleaned
Pre spraying conditioning lubricants allows for necessary dwell time for cleaning lubricants to break down and emulsify oils, suspending them and the remaining soils from the carpet fibers to be extracted during rinsing process.
Clean & rinse pre-conditioned areas with rotary jet hot water extractor
A rotary jet extraction unit is used to create aggressive agitation, injecting and recovering a hot water rinsing agent. It rinses out the cleaning compounds and suspended oils leaving the carpet as residue and soil free as possiable.
Speed drying with air movers
Speed drying is vital in course of cleaning to prevent premature re-soiling of wet carpet. We use air movers in the course of our cleaning moving them as the cleaning progresses through the home. We feel strongly about drying and have a special program available to leave up to two air movers with client free of charge if they agree to return them to our office with in 48 hours. May be desirable if additional services were done such as carpet protector or pet decontamination.
Groom the carpet
Grooming of carpet is for more than looks. It stands the carpet up vertically allowing air to freely circulate around the fibers and helps to accelerate drying. It also looks better.

Unlike synthetic carpets, which would be very difficult to over clean, aggressive cleaning of natural fibers because of excessive soils can quickly result in damage. Jay Dee professional upholstery technicians are trained to remove as much soil as possible without harming the fiber, color, finish or texture of the fabric. It’s important to establish a regular cleaning routine to prevent your furniture from permanent damage.

Pre-inspection of piece to be cleaned
Inspect piece with client, noting any pre-existing damage such as tears, missing buttons, color oxidation or sun fading.
Identify fabric / cleaning code
It is critical to know what type of fabric is being cleaned since certain yards will react adversely to specific chemicals. To avoid damage to your furniture, it is important to identify the fabric prior to cleaning.
Determine source of soils and spots to determine correct cleaning agents to be used.
The primary source of soiling on upholstery is body oils and food spills. Knowing source of the soils determines the solution to be used.
Testing for color fastness
Some categories of dyes will “bleed” or run. It is important to know the stability of the dye prior to selecting the cleaning solution.
Cleaning Process
Spot and pre-condition material for cleaning. Rinse spotting agents and conditioners from fabric.
Set direction of nap if necessary
Fabrics such as velvets and micro-fibers should have the lay of in the nap “dressed” for proper appearance.
